Have you ever really looked at your favourite content creators and wondered how they have time to create so much? I know I have recently, and I think I’ve figured out how they do it. They don’t consume so much content, and concentrate and creating content.

As an example, I’m a huge YouTube fan. Most of the TV I watch is through my favourite content creators YouTube channel. I add videos to a playlist once they’re released, and then every day watch a few videos. Now I might not watch them as soon as they drop, but I’ll get around to them eventually and it’s because I know I’ll enjoy the video in my own time. This does however mean that the time I spend watching, is time I could spend creating.

My goal for 2022 was to really start building my blog platform and creating content for people to enjoy. My typical day currently consists of a couple of school runs, then a full time job, and as I’m still working from home, some house chores in between. Then weekends are made up of spending time with my son and wife and escaping the confines of our house to explore and enjoy nature. It doesn’t seem to leave much time for content creation. I also lack decent hardware. The majority of my content is created on my phone, which as useful as it is, can be tedious, especially when trying to create a video in Premiere Rush on a 6" screen. But hey, we all start somewhere. I do however have a very old laptop which I recently installed a version of ChromeOS on which seems to work, although the trackpad can be temperamental. Easy enough to write on though, so I may pull that back out of an evening to help create, as I often find that I want to create, but at that moment, can’t set myself up to do so, and then when I don’t plan to create, that’s when my ideas come to me.

As such, I’m planning to rework my day a little bit. I’m typically a morning person, and hate going to bed late, so I’ll need to look at setting aside some time, maybe of a weekend morning to create more often, to try and gain back some time. Do you set aside specific time every day for your posts, or do you write/record/create as soon as the feeling hits you? Let me know in the comments below.
